The Multicultural Resource Directory is a major component of the Atlanta Regional
Commission's (ARC) Global Atlanta Works program. It is an online, interactive database
that contains resources and other information especially useful for engaging and
expanding opportunities with ethnic and immigrant communities, facilitating public
participation, and improving services delivery. The resources target ethnic and
immigrant communities in the ten-county Atlanta region (Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb,
DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Rockdale and the City of Atlanta).
This directory is designed specifically for users such as outreach coordinators,
local governments, ethnic communities, the media, educational institutions, health
and human service providers, private industry and the general public. It works most
efficiently when used in tandem with the Global Atlanta Works Interactive Mapping
System and Global Atlanta Works Calendar of Events. Together, they offer the most
complete and up-to-date ethnic-related resources and information that are accessible
and easy to use.
Resources include ethnic community organizations and associations, cultural activities,
health and human services providers, government agency programs, neighborhood-oriented
groups, merchants' associations, occupational associations, organizations that offer
arts, recreational and educational opportunities, ethnic media, and community experts
and speakers, linguistic service providers, international and business entities,
faith-based groups - all targeting ethnic and immigrant population groups in Atlanta.
Each featured organization/entity has an information profile record; the profile
includes:
Contact information Activity or service provided
Target population Service area And much more ...
Resource providers are able to add and update profile records online via email at
multiculturaldirectory@atlantaregional.com. Additionally, records are kept current
by ARC staff who will contact each organization/entity at least once each year via
email to ensure that information about the organization/entity is up-to-date and
correct.
The information in the Multicultural Resource Directory is free to all. However,
those who use this information must acknowledge the Atlanta Regional Commission
(ARC)Global Atlanta Works Program as the source. The Global Atlanta Works Multicultural
Resource Directory is accessible 24 hours/day on the ARC Web site.
