While there is a great diversity in Nigerian life, some of the common characterisitics often attributed to the Nigerian people are independence, self-confidence and a spirit of enterprise. These characteristics are evident in the roles taken by Nigerians in the Atlanta economy. Fully 40 percent of Nigerian men are in management, business and financial occupations. Nigerian women are similarly found in management, professional, service and sales/office occupations.
